Fusebox Festival 2016

BAT/MAN, an experimental musical work for an ensemble of bats and humans, was performed near the Mexican Free-Tailed Bat colony at Congress Bridge. Led by Steve Parker, the project pitch shifted bat calls in real time so they could be discernible to the human ear, and allowed the roving audience to accompany the calls with echo-location devices, accompanied by conch shell ensemble, a megaphone choir, and a funnel horn/garden hose band. Texas Choral Consort was the featured ensemble in this performance and was nominated for a 2015-2016 Austin Critics Table award for Choral Performance.
