SINGER GUIDELINES IN BRIEF
We sincerely believe we are stronger with you than without you. That means we need you with us whenever we rehearse or perform, unless a significant conflict arises. We know that life happens, so when it does, we ask that you inform our Chorus Manager (firstname.lastname@example.org) and your Section Leaders at least 24 hours before your absence. If you can provide more notice, all the better.
We are proud to be a non-auditioned chorus who welcomes everyone, regardless of musical experience or ability. At the same time, we’re also proud of the high standards we maintain, which means some will have to work harder than others to meet that standard. But we’re here and ready to help you succeed! The Singer Login page on our website is the place to find everything you need to know. Prior to rehearsals, we post sound and music files as soon as we get them to allow you to be as prepared as possible.
We think making music is a vital part of our lives and the health of our community, and we expect each member of PV to treat fellow musicians with kindness and respect. Everyone’s experience will be better because of the respect we show one another.
Like so many arts organizations across the country, we have to work very hard to meet our financial goals. While we don’t set a specific contribution for each singer, those funds are the lifeblood of our budget. We ask that you give generously in support of this amazing artistic vision.
Our audiences have endless entertainment options - no other city has the live music offerings of Austin. Cultivating our following is a team effort, and we need every one of you to use social media, word-of-mouth, and any platform you can to spread the word about what we are doing.
Registered singers can view and download the full singer guidelines on the singer resource page.
