Online sales have ended but tickets are available for $25 at the concert
The Panoramic Voices Chorus and Orchestra will deliver its defining mix of musical art led by Brent Baldwin, who is celebrating his 10th anniversary as Artistic Director. This concert is both a reflection of Brent’s increasingly honed artistic vision and a tribute to his many collaborators since 2008. With poetry as the connective tissue, experience timeless works including Fern Hill by John Corigliano and Toward the Unknown Region by Ralph Vaughan Williams as well as modern-day master Dana Falconberry performing her work in arrangements rarely seen.
The performance on Sunday, November 11 at 4:30 pm at Northwest Hills United Methodist Church will include:
Fern Hill (John Corigliano | Dylan Thomas)
Toward the Unknown Region (Ralph Vaughan Williams | Walt Whitman)
Frostiana (Randall Thompson | Robert Frost)
Song Without Words (Brent Baldwin | Lynd Ward)
Down a Country Lane (Aaron Copland)
Enigmatic original works in collaboration with Dana Falconberry
This concert is collaboration with and benefiting the SIMS foundation, with a portion of the ticket sales going directly to SIMS important work in the Austin music community.
As with all our concerts, Toward the Unknown is focused not only on providing an engaging, educational, and high-level performance opportunity for our volunteer singers, but also on supporting as many professional musicians as possible with a paying gig. After all, we all have to do our part to maintain and grow the fabric of the Austin music community. New this season is the ability of individuals to assist in this critical organizational mission by sponsoring these paid musicians. Please consider not only coming to the concert in November but sponsoring a talented Austin musician in the process! Sponsorships start as low as $200, and go directly towards the artist’s compensation. Click here to find out more about sponsoring the concert.
