KNOW BEFORE YOU GO!
Saturday, February 21, 7:30pm
ST. JOHN STUDIOS
Thank you for purchasing tickets to “Skál” featuring Nordanfolk on Saturday, Feb. 21. We’re looking forward to sharing a unique set of repertoire in a truly incredible space! This is a new venue for us, and while we think it’s a particularly cool space (with a lot of wonderful benefits, including a cash bar!), there are some notable quirks as well! Parking here is particularly challenging (please see important information below). Knowing where to be (and when) will help us keep congestion at the entrance to a minimum, and will allow you a stress-free, enjoyable concert experience.
We are thrilled to be able to use such a cool venue, but know that it comes with some logistical challenges. Thank you in advance for your patience during the parking and check in processes!
GETTING TO THE SHOW
WHEN & WHERE:
Saturday, February 21, 7:30pm (Ticket entry times below!)
St. John Studios
705 W. St. Johns Ave. | Austin, TX 78752
PARKING & TRANSPORTATION—DON’T SKIP THIS INFORMATION!!! We know this is often the WORST part of our shows… and we are truly sorry. Venues are an increasingly difficult challenge with our large choir (and our small non-profit budget). We work hard to find creative solutions to include as many singers (and audience members) as want to be involved while being fiscally responsible as a relatively small non-profit organization—this is a new space for us, and we think you’re going to love it! But… the parking isn’t ideal. Thank you so much for your understanding on this front. Here is some important information:
THE SMALL LOT ATTACHED TO THE VENUE IS RESERVED FOR GUEST WITH HANDICAP STICKERS ONLY. No one else will be able to park directly in front of the venue entrance. Please please please help us by saving these spaces for guests who genuinely need them.
THE PARKING LOT DIRECTLY NEXT DOOR (at Texas DPS Credit Union) IS OPEN TO ALL GUESTS. This lot will not fit all guests, so please arrive early to find parking in this lot.
AMPLE PARKING IS AVAILABLE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD NORTH OF ST. JOHNS AVE. If you are comfortable walking a block or two, we would appreciate anyone who is willing to park a few blocks away on the street in the neighborhood just north of the venue.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO THIS SPOT IS VERY EASY! There are multiple bus lines that stop directly in front of our venue. Additionally, the redline stops at Crestview Station, which is just a block and a half away from the venue. Anyone who is able to use this option is strongly encouraged to do so!
ENTRY TIMES & CHECK IN
ENTERING & CHECK-IN: All guests will be asked to check in at the front entrance. We have a few important tasks at check in because of the “private social club” aspect of this venue. We will need all names of all guests present—if you purchased multiple tickets under one name, please know that you may need to take an extra few seconds at check-in to share your guests’ names. We are working on a way to solicit this information in advance, too.
We will also be giving wristbands for our VIP guests, and our GA seated guests, as they have paid for extra benefits at this concert.
Thank you in advance for your patience with the check in process! We’ve added some extra time between check in and the concert start to allow you time to get in, visit our vendors, and get settled!
ENTRY TIMES:
6:30PM – VIP EARLY ENTRY: VIP guests will be allowed to enter the concert hall first to find their seats and claim their signed posters! Those who purchased balcony seats especially might need a little extra time to find their spot. (Please note, there is a lift from the bottom floor to the top floor for those who cannot use the stairs. It, however, requires operation from the ground; please locate the VIP CONCIERGE for help using the elevator!)
6:45PM - GENERAL ADMISSION & STUDENT ENTRY: You will be able to enter the hall at 6:45pm. You are welcome to line up at the entrance prior to your entry time.
SEATED GUESTS: Those who purchased GA or Student SEATED tickets will be able to fill in all non-VIP seats on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please note that this is a completely sold out event; anything you can do to help fill in the seats (rather than leaving a space between you and another guest) is greatly appreciated.
After the show starts, empty seats may be filled by standing-room-only guests; if you arrive after 7:30 pm, we can no longer guarantee you a seat.
PLEASE DO NOT SAVE A SEAT NEXT TO YOU FOR A FRIEND WHO DID NOT PURCHASE A SEATED TICKET. As you know, having purchased a seated ticket, these spots cost more than the standing room tickets. Please be respectful of everyone who paid for seats.
IF YOU NEED SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS FOR A DISABILITY: If you purchased a seated ticket, but need space for a wheelchair or walker instead, please locate any usher for help
STANDING GUESTS: You are welcome to fill in empty seats ONLY AFTER THE SHOW STARTS. Standing-room-only guests who sit prior to that time will be asked to move to honor guests who paid for seats. Thank you for being willing to stand—our concerts are short (each half is between 30-40 min) and festive. Please do dance it out!
VENDORS, BAR, & STUFF TO DO!
We are thrilled to offer several fun ways to enjoy the pre-concert, intermission, and post-concert times!
SHOP REN FAIRE GOODS: The Raven’s Nest will be on site selling premium Renaissance Festival finery! Please visit their job in the room just right of the stage (when looking at it), or straight ahead from the main entrance!
PICK UP OR PURCHASE CONCERT POSTERS: A limited supply of concert posters will be available for sale at the back of the concert hall! This is also where you can pick up your pre-ordered poster.
BUY CONCERT SHIRTS: We are trying a new thing—concert shirts will be available through our print-on-demand merch shop! We will have a couple samples at the back table, but all orders can be placed through our online shop. (Sure, you can shop now if you want to!)
BUY DRINKS: Our venue comes with a fully staffed bar, which is located just across the courtyard from our concert space. Themed cocktails, as well as a smattering of canned beverages, will be available for purchase all evening. Your patronage helps support a venue that gave our small non-profit a really generous deal—help show them some love!
NOVELTY PHOTOS: We are thrilled to partner with local photography studio TK Photography to offer an elevated “photo booth” experience. Show off those ‘fits; share and tag @Panoramic_Voices and @Nordanfolk in your posts!
ENTRANCE MUSIC (Saturday Only): On Saturday, local Bard legend Nøkken will be providing some pre-concert ambiance! They’ll be accepting tips!
THE SHOW ITSELF!
CONCERT RUN TIME: The concert itself will run from 7:30pm to approximately 9pm! After the show, you are welcome to hang out for a bit, meet some singers, and visit our vendors. We will clear the hall at 10pm.
CONCERT PROGRAM: Our concert program is offered digitally ONLY. We will have QR codes available for you to pull it up on site, and it will be posted on our website by on Thursday morning.
ABOUT THE CONCERT REPERTOIRE: This is a unique program… mostly derived from the original music of our guest artist, Nordanfolk, who performs “Nordic Folk Metal.” Expect percussion and loud, period instruments (including hurdy gurdy, bukke horn, and more!)
AND ONE MORE THING…
If you are moved by something you hear on Saturday, we hope you will consider a gift (of any size) towards our Amplify Austin campaign! Your generosity allows us to continue offering exceptional musical experiences to singers in Austin free of the typical boundaries to participation (such as singer fees and auditions). If you would like to make a gift now, please do so by contributing to our Amplify Austin fundraiser: https://www.amplifyatx.org/organizations/panoramic-voices
Thank you again for spending some time with us this weekend! If you have any questions, you can reach us at chorus_manager@panoramicvoices.org.
