Panoramic Voices 25th Anniversary is Coming!
2020 is behind us, and thanks to our generous supporters, Panoramic Voices has been able to re-think and re-tool the way we deliver our gift of music. Panoramic Voices plans to enter 2021 (our 25th year) bringing music to larger and increasingly diverse audiences and you can be a part of it!
As the poet Robert Browning put it, “He who hears music, feels his solitude peopled at once.” We hear from singers and musicians who miss the special experience that singing with others can provide. We also miss that shared magic. Virtual concerts offer an unexpected benefit in that they allow us to collaborate with musicians–composers, singers, and instrumentalists–from anywhere in the world and they can take us to audiences that we would never reach otherwise.
What’s coming in 2021? We are planning the premieres of two brand new works early in the year, composed with virtual performances in mind. We are also looking at how we can bring back a new installment of our Indie Orchestra Night concert later in 2021, featuring the string quartet Invoke. The format for that event will depend on what’s safe for our performers and audience at the time. Since we don’t have a crystal ball, we are going to plan for all the ways that performance might be presented—virtual, in person, or a combination of both. We’re also working with some terrific collaborators like Tetractys and the Invincible Czars to develop projects that we can add to our season in late spring and at the end of the year.
