A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR:
Welcome to FAs & LAs, Panoramic Voices’ 2022 holiday program! We know you have a lot of choices for how to celebrate your Christmas season, and we’re so glad you chose us!
Today’s program is a healthy mix of classics, pop, movie music, and of course, singalongs! We’re thrilled to complement this with an artisan craft fair, thanks to the hard work of Nancy Stallcup!
Panoramic Voices is a beautiful community of singers diverse in age, skill level, and social/economic background. Everyone is welcome here! In fact, we’ve actively removed barriers to participation, such as auditions and fees. Our “music without borders” approach is what makes us special and unique in the Austin arts community. We hope that we can share just a tiny piece of that with you today!
Registration is open for our next concert series; performances are on February 19 at KMFA Classical 89.5. We will be premiering a new, innovative work by local composer Nathan Felix, which will fill the entire space of KMFA, much like musical exhibits in a museum. His new work will tell border stories of Austin’s vibrant Hispanic community.
If you are interested in joining our vibrant choral community, please know that you—YES, YOU—are invited. Check out the “Register to Sing” button below for more information.
As always, we encourage you to sing along… and dance… and clap/holler when you like a solo… and take a break when you need it. We will have a slightly extended intermission to allow for more craft shopping.
Thank you for coming—have a safe and happy end of the year!
-Juli

SINGALONG
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen,
Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen…
But do you recall
The most famous reindeer of all?
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw it
You would even say it glows.
All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games.
Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say,
"Rudolph, with your nose so bright
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"
Then how the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee,
"Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,
You'll go down in history!"

SINGALONG
White Christmas/Jingle Bells
WHITE CHRISTMAS
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know—
Where the tree tops glisten
And children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
With every Christmas card I write,
”May your days be merry and bright,
And may all your Christmas' be white.”
JINGLE BELLS
Dashing through the snow
On a one horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go,
Laughing all the way
Bells on bob tail ring,
making spirits bright
What fun it is to laugh and sing
A sleighing song tonight
Oh, jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh!

FELIZ NAVIDAD

PEACE, PEACE
By Rick and Sylvia Powell
Arranged by Fred Bock
At the third verse, please join us singing “Silent Night”
Silent night! Holy night!
All is calm, all is bright,
’Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child!
Holy infant so tender and mild;
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.
