The Brahms Requiem

  • Northwest Hills United Methodist Church (map)

On the heels of an Austin Critics Table Award nomination for our February 2013 concert, Texas Choral Consort brought Brahms’ German Requiem in full force to Central Texas audiences. This masterwork by one of the titans of classical music opened TCC’s 17th season with two performances August 17 and 18. The more than 150 voices of the TCC chorus were joined by soloists David Small, baritone, and Suzanne Ramo, soprano, and accompanied by the TCC orchestra. As an added treat, the concert features the premiere of a new movement from the upcoming Mozart Requiem Undead project by none other than Caroline Shaw, this year’s winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Music.
