PANORAMiC WINTER 2025 REGISTRATION

PROJEcT 1:
SPIRIT & SPLENDOR” AT THE BLANTON

PROJEcT 2:
LIGHT IT UP” WITH DENSITY512 AT CENTRAL MACHINE

PROJEcT 3:
MESSIAH” WITH CENTRAL TEXAS PHILHARMONIC

Singers are welcome to register for ANY or ALL of our winter projects—we will use our lottery system to parse out performance rosters when registration closes. We will have room to place everyone on at least one of our winter projects, and likely at least two if desired! However, to balance voice parts, and depending on interest, we may asking singers who register for multiple projects to choose one or the other in order to allow more singers to participate overall.

Please read the descriptions of each below, and look at all rehearsal dates before registering—then indicate your preferences in the registration form below. As always, contact juli@panoramicvoices.org with questions or concerns.

All rehearsals will be held at Northwest Hills United Methodist’s Sanctuary (7050 Village Center Drive, Austin, TX) unless otherwise noted.

PROJECT 1: SPIRIT & SPLENDOR

We will be performing as part of the museum’s Blanton All Day program, which grants free museum entry to Austin residents once per month! Pano will perform works that complement the upcoming “Spirit & Splendor” Hispanic Baroque installation. Join Panoramic in this stellar space and enjoy the intersection of visual and performing arts.

This project will feature a world premiere by our very own Benjamin Dia, who will be musically exploring the Spanish colonization of his home country, the Philippines! Additionally, we will sing some legitimate Baroque repertoire from Latin America, some indigenous Peruvian music, and a contemporary piece or two with ties to Spanish Baroque influences.

This project has 8 rehearsals, and is appropriate for ALL singers, from beginning to professional! While the music can be a bit challenging at times, we will have rehearsal tracks and exceptional section leaders available to help singers of all backgrounds be successful.

SCHEDULE:

  • CONCERTS: November 8, 4:30 pm & 6:30 pm performances

  • REHEARSALS:

    • Thursdays (7-9pm): Oct. 9, 16, 23, 30; Nov. 6

    • Saturdays (9am-12pm): Oct. 18, 25; Nov. 1

CAPACITY: We will be able to accommodate 150 singers for this performance.

ATTENDANCE: We request that singers miss no more than 2 rehearsals for this project. Additional absences should be discussed with Juli prior to registering. We’re happy to be flexible as long as there is clear communication!

PROJECT 2: LIGHT IT UP

WITH DENSITY512

We’re expanding our annual Light It Up festival at Central Machine Works to include a proper performance WITH OUR FRIENDS AT DENSITY512! Join us in our favorite local brewery for an upbeat, casual program of holiday music, preceded by our annual “community caroling for voices and instruments.” We’ll be working on adding exciting vendors, collaborators, and activities to this early December gig, making the event as festive as they come… we’ll also be performing holiday music that falls a little further towards the “pop” end of the spectrum in anticipation of our May “Divas” collaboration with Density.

(We will also ask a group of singers from this project to perform in collaboration with a number of our colleagues and friends on Sunday, December 14 at UUMC. This is optional, and will only be available for up to 60 singers.)

This project has 8 rehearsals, and is appropriate for ALL singers, from beginning to professional! The music will be poppy and upbeat, with very little “serious choral repertoire.”

SCHEDULE:

  • CONCERT: Sunday, December 7 (~6pm) (Plus optional Sunday, December 14 performance)

  • REHEARSALS:

    • Tuesdays (7-9pm): Nov. 18, 25

    • Thursdays (7-9pm): Oct. 28; Nov. 13, 20; Dec. 4,

    • Saturdays (9am-12pm): Nov. 29; Dec. 6

CAPACITY: We will be able to accommodate up to 125 singers for this performance.

ATTENDANCE: We request that singers miss no more than 2 rehearsals for this project. Additional absences should be discussed with Juli prior to registering. We’re happy to be flexible as long as there is clear communication!

PROJECT 3: MESSIAH, PART 1

**Please note that this is not the segment of “Messiah” that includes the “Hallelujah Chorus.”

We will be appearing as the guest chorus for Central Texas Philharmonic in their performance of Messiah: Part 1, too! Nothing says "the holidays" like singing with a full orchestra under the baton of world-class conductor, Stefan Sanders!

This is a condensed project with fewer rehearsals than our others. Singers should be comfortable learning their parts from practice tracks and music at home, as we will only rehearse a few times for this one. In other words, while all are welcome, this project may be challenging for beginners.

SCHEDULE:

  • CONCERT: Sunday, December 21 (afternoon) in Georgetown, TX

  • REHEARSALS:

    • Tuesdays (7-9pm): Dec. 9

    • Thursdays (7-9pm): Dec. 11, 18

    • Saturdays (9am-12pm): Nov. 22; Dec. 13, 20 (this rehearsal potentially in Georgetown)

CAPACITY: We will be able to accommodate 70 singers for this performance (plus up to 30 non-performance track singers who wish to come to rehearsals only).

ATTENDANCE: SINGERS MAY ONLY MISS ONE REHEARSAL FOR THIS PROGRAM. You should be prepared to practice and learn music at home using our resources. Contact Juli before registering if you have more than one scheduled absence.

After reviewing the information above, please fill out the registration form BELOW, which IS GOOD FOR ALL OF THE ABOVE PROJECTS
